TALLER is an external training agent for the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of the Government of the United Mexican States, therefore all our programs offer labor certification with government validity. Typically a single certificate program takes 6-7 months.

3. Fashion and Luxury History Lab

Co-founded by Montserrat González Caballero, a visionary in textile and fashion design, our journey began when she recognized the need for trained personnel in the national fashion and luxury sector. OLIVIA MEZA DE LA ORTA

Tutor

A fashion journalist with ten years of experience. She is the founder and director of MEOW Magazine (2013). A freelance collaborator in various digital and print publications such as InStyle, i-D, GQ, The Style Guide by Andares, La Tempestad, Elle Mexico, and Badhombre. She is responsible for art direction, fashion productions, and styling for editorials, digital advertising campaigns for Bombavista, adidas Originals, Nike Sportswear, Vans, Liverpool, among others, and independent projects such as Rampa, The Wedding Book, Fashion Week Mexico, Archipelago, and Louis Vuitton City Guides.

NATALYA TARANKOVA

Tutor

A Latvian experimental photographer based in Denmark and Mexico. In her 20 year long photo career she has been working within art, documentary, experimental and commercial photography. She graduated as a teacher from alternative teacher training in Denmark in 2014 and has worked in a long list of educational projects in Europe, Africa and Asia. Natalya founded W.e. Space Cph, a creative hub in Copenhagen, were she started teaching photography to creatives and entrepreneurs and never stopped since then. Natalya showcased 2 of her solo exhibitions in Copenhagen and has been part of numerous international exhibitions and galleries.

JESÚS ARRIAGA

Tutor

A professional with experience in developing digital marketing and e- commerce strategies for the retail, luxury, banking, and services sectors. Arriaga is a specialist in campaigns focused on maximizing investment in media and conversion in virtual and physical stores. He has six years of experience developing successful sales strategies for brands such as TOUS, Adolfo Domínguez, and Grupo Martí.

HELENA MUÑOZ

Tutor

A marketing and sales professional with experience in the fashion industry. Currently serving as a portfolio manager for Luxottica, focusing on fast fashion brands in the Latin American market. Formerly, she held the position of Senior International Fashion Merchandiser for Mango and worked as an Account Executive – International Sales & Merchandising for DKNY in Milan, Italy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, a Master's in Marketing, and a Master's in Luxury Product Management.

JOHNNY LÓPEZ

Tutor

He has worked in creative direction, production, and styling for editorials in Grazia, GQ, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar, Glamour, among others. He has served as a fashion coordinator for global brands' campaigns such as Nike and Calvin Klein Underwear. He studied Textile and Fashion Design and was recognized as one of the top 8 stylists in Mexico by Grazia Mexico magazine.Marketing and commercialization expert with wide experience in the fashion industry, having worked at Luxottica, Mango, and DKNY. She has successfully launched various collections, redefined brand positioning, product strategies, and execution across diverse markets, with a strong focus on product. She holds a Master's degree in Marketing and Brand Identity from Barcelona and in Luxury Management from Milan.

RENATA BECERRIL

Tutor

Curator and design critic. She currently directs CAPITALES, a gallery and design consultancy with clients such as Público Coworking, Tampico Government, Trendsétera, fashion brands, among others. She is the founder and former director of the international festival Abierto Mexicano de Diseño. She holds a master's degree in contemporary design curation from Kingston University, London. She has curated numerous exhibitions, including the first Mexican exhibition in London for the Architecture Festival presented by RIBA.

LIA LABARTHE

Tutor

Lia Labarthe has worked as a trend analyst at WGSN and Trend Union in Paris. She was a fashion designer at Cuidado con el Perro. She is a textile and fashion designer with a Master's degree in Fashion Trend Forecasting from Polimoda in Florence.

JAVIER RUBIO

Tutor

He has worked as a Senior Buyer-Merchandiser at Forever 21, overseeing inventory management, budgeting, product selection for various departments, and promotion scheduling. From 2002 to 2019, he served as a Buyer and Merchandiser at Suburbia, managing formal men's wear, prestigious women's brands, juniors, men's wear, home goods, sports, and women's and men's footwear, contributing to increased performance across all categories within the company.

TANYA MELÉNDEZ

Tutor

Currently, she is a Senior Curator at the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (MFIT) in New York. She has worked for the British Council Mexico as a cultural advisor and at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum. A Fulbright-García Robles (2002-2004) and National Fund for Culture and Arts (2002) scholar, she received the Miguel Covarrubias Award (Bachelor's Thesis in Museology) from the National Institute of Anthropology and History in 2000. She studied a master's in museology for fashion and textiles at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT-New York) and a bachelor's in Humanities at the University of the Americas – Puebla.

Gerardo Michaux is the Research and Development Manager at Ganon. He is an expert in designing embellishments for clothing and textiles. PABLO VERAZA TONDA

Co-founder of the Research Program on Critical Studies on the Fashion and Luxury Phenomenon (2023). An academic at UNAM and a Ph.D. researcher at the University of Freiburg, Germany. His research focuses on contemporary phenomenology, specializing in the phenomenology of the political. Veraza Tonda's work spans areas such as "History of Aesthetics," "Deconstruction," "Phenomenology," "Contemporary Ontology," and "Critical Theory."

What is the entrance level to enroll into the program? 

We do not require a specific education level to study in TALLER, however our program are designed for motivated people who are serious about their education and career in fashion. You need to be able to study in English. You have time for weekly 3 hour live sessions per certificate program. Typically a single certificate program takes 6-7 months. This Master specialization includes 5 Certificate programs. That means you need to be able to commit to 2,5-3 years of education, depending on your pace and assignment delivery.

How does the Master and Certificate system works?

Certificate programs start in March and August of each year as indicated in the table above. You have two years since the moment you enroll in the program to complete them all. You are free to choose in which order you prefer to follow the Certificate programs. For example, you may choose to start your Master specialization with Trend Forecasting Lab and Commercialization and Sales Strategy Lab in August 2024 and after completion you can start the other three certificate programs already in 2024 or during the following year. Each Certificate program  starts once a year - in August or March. You can take 1, 2 or even 3 certificate programs simultaneously as long as you can commit to the weekly  on-live classes and practical assignments. 

What is an on-live program? 

On-live programme means weekly live Zoom sessions with your tutor and the study group. You can join the live sessions or watch the class in recording. We strongly encourage you to attend the live sessions to get the most of this education, however all the live sessions are available in recording to watch at your own pace later. 

What is the on-live sessions schedule?

The on-live sessions run from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM CST. This is a time zone used in North America, including parts of the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America.It is important to note the corresponding times for different locations. For example: 

  • California (PT): Commences at 6:00 AM PT and concludes at 9:00 AM PT.
  • Tokyo (JST): Starts at 12:00 AM JST (next day) and finishes at 3:00 AM JST (next day).
  • London (GMT): Kicks off at 2:00 PM GMT and wraps up at 5:00 PM GMT.


Taking time zones into consideration will ensure you don't miss out on any part of the sessions!

What should I do if I can't join the on-live sessions?

All the sessions will be recorded for you to access at your convenience if you cannot attend them live. However, it is necessary to submit a minimum of 80% of the required projects to qualify for a certificate.

How long will I pay a monthly fee?

You are welcome to pay the whole amount when you enroll into the Masters or split the total amount into 24 monthly payments.

Is there any enrollment fee for this Master specialization program?

There is nothing to worry about! If you choose to make a single payment, no registration fee will be applied. However, if you go for the monthly payment option, an initial payment will be required at the time of registration. The 23 remaining payments will be automatically charged, starting one month after your registration.

What happens if my scheduled tutor is unable to work in the program?

All the tutors are highly experienced professionals, each of them with at least 10 years of career in the fashion industry. They all hold open management positions. If, eventually, the scheduled tutor cannot work in the program due to professional issues, they will be replaced by another who meets the required profile for the delivery of  the programs, ensuring high standards for the sessions.
